DITEC: First Project Deliverable DITEC February 13, 2026 10:49 am We are pleased to announce the official launch of our first project deliverable under WP2:D2.1 – From Dialogue to Impact: Industry–Academia Roundtable Case Studies. This case study book represents a major milestone for the project and captures the tangible outcomes of our industry–academia roundtables conducted across Estonia, Germany, and Cyprus. The deliverable translates structured dialogue with industry stakeholders into 31 realistic, practice-oriented case studies designed to strengthen the alignment between IT education and real-world professional demands About the Case Study Book The From Dialogue to Impact case study book is a comprehensive educational resource aimed at modern IT and engineering education. It addresses a wide range of contemporary challenges faced by graduates entering professional environments shaped by artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, complex systems, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Rather than focusing solely on technical correctness, the case studies emphasize: decision-making under uncertainty, communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, security and safety awareness, system thinking and responsibility, and professional and transversal skills required in real organizational contexts. Each case is grounded in authentic industry challenges identified during roundtables and stakeholder consultations, and follows a consistent didactic structure suitable for use in higher education, project-based learning, and professional training. What the Case Studies Cover The book includes 31 case studies spanning domains such as: AI systems and responsible AI use Cybersecurity incidents and risk management Safety-critical software and systems engineering Robotics and requirements engineering DevOps, legacy systems, and cloud architectures Software quality in the age of AI-generated code Communication, teamwork, onboarding, and professional skills All company names used in the cases are fictional, ensuring anonymity while preserving realism and applicability. Why This Deliverable Matters This deliverable demonstrates how structured dialogue with industry can be transformed into actionable educational content. It supports educators in designing learning activities that prepare students not only to write code, but to: understand organizational contexts, collaborate across roles, assess risks and trade-offs, and act responsibly in complex socio-technical systems. The case study book is a key step in moving from dialogue to impact – bridging the gap between academic preparation and professional reality.   Latest news RoboXR Showcased at the MASTER XR Final Event in Oldenburg 18 Jun 2026 Projects RoboXR Pilot Testing Successfully in Cyprus  18 Jun 2026 Projects New DITEC Outputs For Human-Centered IT Education 15 Jun 2026 DITEC RoboXR Teaser Video Release 29 Apr 2026 Projects DITEC: First Project Deliverable Launched 13 Feb 2026 DITEC Popular news RoboXR Showcased at the MASTER XR Final Event in Oldenburg 18 Jun 2026 Projects RoboXR Pilot Testing Successfully in Cyprus  18 Jun 2026 Projects New DITEC Outputs For Human-Centered IT Education 15 Jun 2026 DITEC DITEC: First Project Deliverable Launched 13 Feb 2026 DITEC DITEC: Industry – Academia Roundtables 10 Feb 2026 DITEC

Industry – Academia Roundtables DITEC February 10, 2026 12:31 pm In January 2026, a series of Industry–Academia Roundtables were successfully held in Cyprus and Germany, jointly organised by leading academic and industry partners to explore how IT education can better prepare students for labour-market realities. In Cyprus, the roundtable was hosted by the University of Nicosia together with the European Centre of Emerging Competencies and Technologies. In Germany, the event was organised by Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with PureSec. Across both countries, representatives from 24 companies and higher-education institutions took part in structured discussions focused on improving IT study programmes and ensuring that graduates are better prepared for real-world professional environments. Focus on Bridging Education and Industry Needs The roundtables addressed key challenges faced by employers when hiring junior IT professionals, including: gaps between academic knowledge and practical application, insufficient exposure to real industrial problems, and the need for stronger transversal skills alongside technical competencies. Participants worked collaboratively to identify how industry input can be systematically embedded into teaching and learning processes. Key Outputs: International Industry Case Studies A major outcome of the Cyprus and Germany roundtables is the development of industry-driven case studies that: reflect Cypriot and German industrial contexts, translate real company challenges into educational scenarios, and support student readiness for the labour market through applied, problem-based learning. These case studies are fully aligned with outputs from previous roundtables in Estonia, ensuring coherence and comparability across countries. Next Step: First Open-Access Deliverable As a concrete follow-up, the project consortium will release the first open-access deliverable next week, making the initial set of international case studies publicly available for educators, students, and industry partners. Through these coordinated roundtables, the Cyprus and Germany partners contribute directly to strengthening industry–academia collaboration and advancing more practice-oriented, market-relevant IT education across Europe.
